Hi everyone, DEEP DIVE presents MINIMAL DIVE, our first event at the Butcher & Banker from 6pm until midnight.
The evening takes place in the bar. We want to bring the club culture where you can hang out with friends, have a few drinks and enjoy the music.
Our two resident DJs @joakim.bengs and @Micheleuccheddu, have chosen “MINIMAL” as the first genre to immerse themselves in, the selection will be from the records and releases of underground and sought-after artists.
The Genre:
Minimal house is a subgenre of electronic dance music (EDM) that emerged in the early 2000s. It is characterised by a lean, minimalist approach to house music, with an emphasis on repetitive rhythms and simple melodies. The genre is characterised by a small number of elements, often centered on deep bass, percussion and sparse, atmospheric soundscapes. Minimal house is also known for its use of subtle tempo and arrangement variations, which create a hypnotic and meditative effect on the listener. The genre is often associated with artists such as Richie Hawtin, Ricardo Villalobos and Zip, among others.
Minimal house has become more popular in Romania, where it has had a significant impact on the Romanian music scene, particularly in the city of Bucharest, where it has been popular since the mid-2000s. The Romanian minimal house sound is known for its distinct style, characterised by deep, rolling bass, intricate percussion and hypnotic rhythms. This sound emerged from a close-knit community of DJs and producers who were strongly influenced by the minimal techno sound from Germany and other parts of Europe.
The popularity of minimal house in Romania has been fuelled in part by the growth of the country’s club scene, which has become a hub for electronic music in recent years. Romanian DJs and producers such as Rhadoo, Petre Inspirescu and Raresh have won international recognition for their contribution to the minimal house sound, and clubs such as Club Guesthouse and Sunwaves Festival have become renowned destinations for fans of the genre.
The Romanian minimal house scene has also distinguished itself for its DIY approach, with many DJs and producers choosing to release their music on small independent labels rather than seeking record deals with the majors. This has allowed the scene to maintain its underground credibility and foster a sense of community among its followers.

Originally from Finland, Joa was raised in Italy and the USA before settling in Vaasa. He discovered his love for underground electronic music in 2014 after seeing Magda perform live, and hasn’t looked back since. Joa’s sets feature a unique blend of minimal, techno, and house music that always keep the dance floor moving.

Originally from the southern Sardinian archipelago in Italy, M.U. has DJed many different genres of music always driven by a curiosity to discover new sounds and subcultures. In addition to DJing, M.U. is also a producer of electronic music under the name 03SIDIAN, with releases on the label SUPRANU Records.
